Medical Research Council to develop data gathering tool on the Firmstep Platform
The Medical Research Council (MRC) will be one of the first to use AchieveForms on the Firmstep Platform for the development of an online data gathering tool, to be called MRC e-Val.
The MRC is a publicly-funded organisation dedicated to improving human health. One of 7 research councils in the UK, the Medical Research Council spends over £600 million each year to support the highest quality medical research, with the aim of improving human health.
MRC e-Val will allow researchers to report back annually on the outputs and outcomes from MRC-funded projects. During this reporting period, the system will have to support around two and a half thousand concurrent users, a figure likely to increase, meaning that the platform is the perfect place to host the system. The MRC have already used AchieveForms successfully locally for Phase 1 of the project but have decided to use the platform to meet the performance requirements of the project. The MRC are working closely with Firmstep to develop the system which goes live in October.
NATS adopt AchieveForms for Internal IT Support
NATS provides air traffic control services to aircraft flying in UK airspace, and over the eastern part of the North Atlantic. NATS ensures the safety of over 2 million flights every year carrying around 220 million passengers.
NATS has adopted AchieveForms for the creation of a new internal Service Request portal. The Service Portal is used to make IT Requests for anything from requesting file access to new applications.
Having identified internal dissatisfaction with the existing Service Request process, NATS is rebuilding the portal using AchieveForms to make it much simpler and more user-friendly. Expected improvements include more validation, more intelligence to assist completion, and better reporting. The project is well underway with some 150 forms already reduced considerably. 10 forms have gone live with the rest in the development and review stage, estimated to be complete by mid August.
