The London Fire Brigade purchase AchieveForms to drive inter-departmental communications

The London Fire Brigade is run by the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority (LFEPA). They are the third largest fire fighting organisation in the world, protecting people and property from fire within the 1587 square kilometres of Greater London which has a resident population of 7 million, increased by another 500,000 during working hours.

LFEPA identified a need for an online forms product in order to increase the efficiency of their internal and external processes. AchieveForms will initially be used for information gathering purposes and inter-departmental communications. It will eventually be used to drive a number of improved processes from public facing surveys to internal expense claims.

Online bookings for Easter courses a success for the London Borough of Merton

The London Borough of Merton Council has been using AchieveBookings to drive a number of exciting projects throughout the organisation over the last 6 months.

Over Easter the council successfully delivered a comprehensive online bookings system for their 'Easter Plus Courses'; a programme of fun courses for children that takes place during the Easter holidays.

This high-profile project used AchieveBookings and AchieveForms to create an online bookings system for over 20 different leisure courses ranging from sailing lessons to karate. Residents in the borough were able to log on, book multiple courses and pay all in one visit.

Using this system they eliminated the risk of double bookings or refunds due to overbooking as availability was known and clearly displayed at the time of booking. This prevented unnecessary administration costs and provided a better, more efficient and accurate system for customers.

The new system used AchieveForms to create an existing customer accounts activation form. The form looked up details of people who had booked via post the previous year and whose details were already recorded. This meant that existing customers did not have prove eligibility for courses a second time or for multiple bookings. AchieveForms was also used to create and maintain database look-ups for course descriptions and venue details.

The success of this project has meant a significant time and cost saving for the Council in terms of processing bookings and payments and a great improvement in the service offered to residents.

The project was extremely successful with 100% of bookings being processed through the AchieveBookings system (including booking requests through post, email and over the telephone) and 36% of these completed entirely online.

Merton Borough Council is planning to repeat the success of the Easter course with their Summer Plus Courses; a similar, larger programme that is run during the summer holidays. This programme could potentially receive thousands of booking transactions and greater promotion of the new system is planned to ensure as many applications happen online as possible.

The Leisure Development Team will use AchieveBookings to support and streamline the creation of the Summer programme brochure. In previous years the brochure details have been updated manually both on the paper copy and on the website. Using the new system, all event and venue details will be entered once into AchieveBookings and then exported as a Microsoft word document for the brochure, generating significant time and cost savings.
